Recommendations for a specific need (three rows, a small car, a budget, three car seats) are useful, but they should never override the data ranking or hide behind a secret formula. We keep them on separate pages such as family SUVs and three car seats, and every non-score consideration is spelled out there. For example, the Audi Q7 is still a useful three-row SUV to compare, but its published rear-passenger restraints/kinematics subscore is Acceptable, and that result has an explicit numerical effect in both rankings. You can also compare any two vehicles directly.
